Junior Dance Classes

Ballroom and Latin dancing is a great way to get young children active, as well as develop their physical co-ordination skills and strength. Furthermore, it aids in improving posture, grace and poise. On top of the physical benefits, Ballroom and Latin dancing is a highly enjoyable and sociable activity, where children can both have fun and meet new people.

Children will be taught the international standard Ballroom and Latin dances based on the ISTD syllabus (Imperial Society of Teachings of Dancing), by professionally trained and qualified teachers. The contents of our courses are geared towards ISTD Medal Exams, which are internationally recognised and highly regarded on personal statements and CVs for higher education and future employment.

  • Adam and Lindsay - Wedding Dance Lesson

Dream of Dance were fantastic at choreographing our wedding dance. They tailored the dance perfectly to our ability while making the whole experience a lot of fun. We were twirling and giggling throughout. We can't recommend them enough.

    Jane - Junior Dance Class

My daughter has been learning with Dream of Dance for two and a half years. In that time she has taken four exams achieving excellent grades in all of them. I have found Dream of Dance to be a relaxed , friendly and flexible dance school and highly recommend it.

  • Elaine - Group Lesson and Medal Exam

Thank you Joan, Richard and the team of professional dancers at Dream of Dance for all your help and patience in teaching me dance steps, routines and techniques in such a fun and friendly manner. Don't just dream of dance come along to one of the Dream of Dance classes and join the fun and keep fit whatever your age, level and aspirations.

  • Anthea - Private Lesson

I came to Dream of Dance as an experienced dancer looking for private lessons to polish and grow on my existing dance skills. The quality of tuition at Dream of Dance is exceptional, the teachers are genuinely lovely people, very friendly, patient and put you at ease and the lessons are such good value. I would recommend Dream of Dance school to anyone, beginner or experienced dancers alike. I have progressed so quickly, I am so glad I chose this dance school, I just wish I could attend more often!

  • Njomeza - Junior Dance Class

Dream of Dance children ballroom lessons are excellent! Having been to past dance schools ( incl Karen Hardy's which is quite well known ) this is by far the best. Dance sessions challange students to peform to the best of their ability and yet are still really fun. I have learn't so much in only a year and continue to do so. I would highly recommend to anyone, of any ability. Dream of Dance is just brilliant!!

  • Sheryl - Group Lesson and Medal Exam

Dream of Dance classes are very friendly and informative. Even if you don't have any experience of ballroom and Latin you will find the classes enjoyable. The teachers are very professional and they help you achieve your goal in dancing. I love going to their classes because I learn a lot and everyone there has a passion for dance!

    Tazim - Private Lesson

A wonderful experience of learning to dance, very professional, encouraging and enthusiastic approach to teaching ball room and latin dancing.

  • Freda and Pierre - Wedding Dance Lesson

We started dancing as a couple some six months before our wedding. We really wanted to put up a proper show at our wedding and we did. After six months of weekly or sometimes even twice a week lessons (and we have to admit we didn't practice at all in between) we not only delivered a fantastic waltz with lifts and turns and swooshes that got everybody on their feet, we also slotted in some jive, quickstep and cha cha. Our friends loved it, we loved it and we are now continuing the lessons just because we enjoy dancing. The team around Joan are great. Everybody is enthusiastic, they know their stuff, want to help, make it look better. We are having a ball.

  • Chong - Private Lesson

I work in IT, and years of slouching at my desk in front of a computer screen had given me bad posture as a result of my spine adopting an abnormal curvature. Lengthy sessions of physiotherapy did not improve my posture. A chance introduction to ballroom (social) dancing at "Dream of Dance" made me realise that dance is accomplishing what expensive physiotherapy sessions could not achieve - improve my posture. Two years on, and I am walking more upright and with more confidence than ever. Thank you "Dream of Dance"!

  • Rosana - Medal Exam Lesson

Joan has been teaching my daughter Amy for over two years now. Amy came to the dancing class one Wednesday evening and enjoyed it so much that she decided to return and have more lessons with Joan. Joan was very patient with her, and taught Amy at a pace that suited her, with the result that Amy has now taken her bronze and silver medal exams with excellent results. More importantly Amy enjoys the dancing so much and looks forward to her weekly class with Joan. So well done to Dream of Dance, many thanks to Joan for your patience and hard work and inspiring Amy to learn to be a good dancer.

The Dream Team

  • Joan Lee

  • Nuno Sabroso

  • Snow Hsu

  • Danny Power

  • Nadia

Joan Lee (ISTD Licentiate)

Joan dreamed of becoming a dancer since she was in high school. She started her medallist training at the end of 2004, taking exams of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). Within a few years, Joan achieved Gold Star 2 in Latin and Gold Star 1 in Ballroom. Joan finds dancing is best remedy for washing away her stress from work.

Joan's passion for dancing grew with her training. She decided to further her dancing and moved on to professional teacher training. Joan is trained by Janet Clark who is the Vice-President of Latin Faculty of ISTD, a Fellow and a tremendously experienced International Examiner. As a keen student, Joan's dancing skills thrived under Janet's strict training regime. Joan passed her ISTD Licentiate exams with High Distinctions.

In 2011, Joan joined ISTD. As a full teaching member of ISTD, Joan is qualified for independent teaching and entering her students to ISTD medal examinations.

Through her own experience, Joan believes goal-oriented and structured training is the key to becoming a better dancer. Joan would love to pass on her dance learning experiences to her fellow dreamers and make their dance learning more effective and fun.

Nuno Sabroso

Nuno is a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer from Lisbon, Portugal. He started his Ballroom & Latin American dance training over 15 years ago and has since taken part in a number of International competitions around the world.

Nuno has nine years of continuous teaching experience and is qualified in all Ballroom and Latin styles, as well as Salsa, Contemporary and Jazz.

He holds a BA degree in Dance and has also worked extensively on implementing wheelchair dance in Portugal, achieving 3rd place in the World Championship as a standing partner.

Nuno has a warm and friendly personality and enjoys teaching people of all levels and abilities.

Snow Hsu

From a young age, Snow had always been interested in many different styles of dance including ballet and street jazz. This inspired her to take her first lessons of Ballroom and Latin American at the age of 8. She took her very first NATD exam at the age of 9 and within a space of 5 years she had reached Gold Star 2 in both Ballroom and Latin American. Furthermore, she has also completed her ISTD exams up to Gold in both styles.

Ever since then, she has been taking part in many medalist competitions in both NATD and ISTD, and also competed both in couple and solo events. Her love for dance has continued to grow through the years of training under many teachers who have inspired her.

As a passionate dancer, she still hopes to achieve her goals to reach Professional/Amateur level. Her favourite style to this point is Rumba because she feels she can express herself the most and feels the most confident in this style.

Danny Power

Danny started dancing since he was 12 years old. He graduated with honour as a professional dancer for Chinese folk dance. Since 2007, Danny has been concentrating his efforts on Latin American dances. In 2011, he passed the Chinese national exams for dance teacher Grade II.

From 2009, Danny competed professionally in many CDSF (Chinese Dancesport Federation) open competitions. In 2010, he achieved first and second places in Cha Cha Cha and Rumba for the CDSF Open-Guangxi Region. And again, in 2011, first place in university division for CDSF Open-Guangxi Region.

Currently, Danny is studying a BA degree in Contemporary Dance in London.

Nadia, by nature is very sporty. She was chosen to dance performances in her School years annually in Greece and has formed up her passion in Latin dances. She has strong sense of presentation and rhythm with beautiful body shaping. Nadia followed her instincts for dancing with hard training. Now she has achieved great results. Since she came to Dream of Dance School 2 years ago, Nadia has gained much knowledge in Ballroom and Latin dances and has attended various local shows. Nadia was also awarded high marks in her ISTD Medal Exams.

Currently, Nadia is a member of University competition dance team in UCL. Nadia wants to learn Ballroom and Latin dances in details and would like to help Dream of Dance School teachers in group classes and try to pass on her dance passion to people who just start to dance.
